Create Your Own Reality

Hi to all out there – or more appropriately “in there.”

I have been a student of metaphysics all of my life and am a true believer that we create our own reality. There are a vast number of metaphysical/spiritual practices available to all who seek.

My goal in life is to seek out the truth about who I am – who we are – and to find the truth and to live that truth to its fullest potential. One of the problems in dealing with metaphysical truth, is that there are thousands, if not millions of concepts that claim to be the path to enlightenment. Some are flagrantly made up to create followers and others to bilk others of their hard earned money. There are some great systems out there that seem to provide a great deal of knowledge and direction, but are still lacking in certain areas. Others provide a great foundation and are genuinely helpful to those that are incarnating as humans on planet earth.

Although I am an avid reader of metaphysics/spirituality and have studied many systems that claim to be the path to enlightenment, I readily admit that I am still an “infant” when it comes to understanding the path to enlightenment. Every one of us has certain biases and filters that we see and live life through. Therefore we may each see the same material in different ways.

If there was one way/manner/study to get to the ultimate truth, then we would not be discussing metaphysics/spirituality; we would simply be living it.

In very, very simple terms, I believe that we are a part of God/Goddess/All that is (insert your term here) – not apart from God/Goddess/ All that is (insert your term here) and that we are God expressing as (insert your name here). We seem to be separate from each other but that is an illusion – and it is here where the curmudgeon in me starts asking a whole lot of questions.

There might be simple answers to those questions and if they resonate, then that will lead me to the next set of questions. Ultimately we will find all of the answers – albeit not necessarily in this lifetime ( can you guess what questions and retorts that I have concerning that statement ?)

I may ask a question that has such a simple answer that I have to say “duhhhh.” Which is fine- I can cross that question off my list. I have no issue with being wrong – or even in asking questions that might be considered “dumb” (no dumb questions ?  – Come on! Many of us still haven’t reached that state of consciousness yet.)

Merriam Webster (who was Merriam by the way?) defines a curmudgeon as a person (especially an old man – Does old soul qualify ? I think so) who is easily annoyed or angered and who often complains). Doesn’t sound very spiritual or metaphysical, does it ? However I feel that “annoyed” or “angered” in broader terms means not satisfied with the status quo. You cannot change by staying the same. Duhhhh.

I recently listened to a channel from an ascended master stating that being able to communicate with your higher self was limited because the energies to do so were not present until recently (I’m paraphrasing).  Now let’s give a simple example. Let’s if you were living inside a house and you could see the outside world through windows. A trusted parent or friend tells you that that there is a way to see that world by opening the door and venturing out. All excited you keep trying to turn the handle, but you are unable to open the door. You keep trying and trying to no avail. Finally, one day, that trusted parent/friend tells you –  oh by the way – you have to unlock the door first. A simple but key piece of information – but left out. How would you feel?  What questions would you ask ? How frustrated would you be ?

Now the nerd in me would come up with all kinds of alternate scenarios to that simple example. Why couldn’t you do this ? Why couldn’t you do that? The example was meant to illustrate a higher point. We are supposed to be able to create our own realities, but how can we do so when missing key bits of information? Arrrggghhh!!!
